Travel Insurance Disclosure
Important information to help you understand travel insurance, coverage limitations, and your responsibilities before you travel.
Effective Date: August 31, 2026
Last Updated: September 28, 2026
Travel can involve unexpected events, including illness, cancellations, delays, lost baggage, medical emergencies, severe weather, and other disruptions.
Travel insurance may help protect against certain financial losses; however, coverage depends entirely on the specific policy purchased, its terms, covered reasons, exclusions, eligibility requirements, and benefit limits.
Please review this disclosure carefully before deciding whether to purchase or decline travel insurance.

1. Travel Insurance Is a Separate Product
Travel insurance is a separate, optional product offered by independent third-party insurance providers, unless coverage is specifically required for a particular destination, supplier, tour, or travel arrangement.
Travel insurance is:
- Not automatically included in your travel arrangements unless specifically stated
- Separate from the cost of flights, cruises, hotels, tours, or other travel services
- Subject to the insurance provider’s own policy terms and conditions
- Purchased separately from the underlying travel reservation
The terms of your insurance policy—not your travel itinerary, invoice, or supplier cancellation policy—determine whether a particular loss is covered.
2. A Blissful Voyage Is Not the Insurance Company
A Blissful Voyage LLC is a travel-planning business and seller of travel. We are not the insurance company that underwrites or administers your travel insurance policy.
Travel insurance policies are issued, administered, and governed by the insurance provider offering the plan.
A Blissful Voyage does not:
- Underwrite travel insurance
- Determine whether a loss is covered
- Approve or deny insurance claims
- Determine the amount of a claim payment
- Guarantee reimbursement
- Modify the terms of an insurance policy
Questions regarding specific coverage, exclusions, benefit amounts, eligibility, or claim determinations should be directed to the applicable insurance provider.
3. Our Role Regarding Travel Insurance
A Blissful Voyage may provide general information about travel-protection options and may provide access to information, links, or materials from third-party travel insurance providers or authorized platforms.
We may also remind travelers that travel insurance is available or encourage travelers to consider whether coverage is appropriate for their trip.
However, information provided by A Blissful Voyage is intended for general informational purposes and should not replace your review of the actual insurance policy.
You are responsible for determining whether a particular plan meets your individual needs.
4. Purchasing Travel Insurance
Travel insurance is generally optional, unless a supplier, destination, tour operator, group program, or other travel arrangement requires specific coverage.
You may choose to:
- Purchase coverage through an insurance provider or authorized platform made available to you
- Obtain coverage independently from another provider of your choice
- Decline travel insurance when coverage is not required
Purchasing insurance is a separate transaction from booking your travel arrangements.
Availability, eligibility, coverage, and pricing may vary based on factors such as your residence, destination, trip cost, travel dates, age, and the particular insurance product selected.
5. When Travel Insurance May Be Required
Although travel insurance is generally optional, certain:
- Destinations
- Tour operators
- Cruise programs
- Group trips
- Suppliers
- Visa or entry requirements
- Specialized travel experiences
may require travelers to maintain particular types or levels of insurance coverage.
If insurance is required for a particular reservation, travelers will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining the required coverage and providing proof when requested.
Requirements imposed by a supplier or destination are separate from A Blissful Voyage’s general recommendation regarding travel insurance.
6. What Travel Insurance May Cover
Depending on the policy selected, travel insurance may provide benefits for circumstances such as:
- Trip cancellation
- Trip interruption
- Emergency medical expenses
- Emergency medical evacuation
- Travel delays
- Missed connections
- Lost, stolen, damaged, or delayed baggage
- Certain supplier-related disruptions
- Other covered travel-related events
These are only examples.
Not every policy includes every benefit, and coverage is not automatic simply because an unexpected event occurs.
The applicable policy determines what is covered.
7. Covered Reasons Matter
Standard travel insurance generally provides benefits only when the loss results from a covered reason specifically identified in the policy.
For example, simply deciding not to travel, changing your mind, becoming uncomfortable with a destination, or experiencing an event that is not included as a covered reason may not qualify for reimbursement under a standard policy.
Travelers should review:
- Covered reasons
- Definitions
- Eligibility requirements
- Benefit limits
- Exclusions
- Documentation requirements
- Claim procedures
before purchasing a policy.
8. Cancel For Any Reason Coverage
Some travel insurance plans may offer Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage or a similar optional benefit.
CFAR is different from standard trip-cancellation coverage.
Depending on the plan, CFAR may:
- Need to be purchased within a specific period after the initial trip payment or deposit
- Require the traveler to insure certain prepaid trip costs
- Require cancellation within a specified period before departure
- Reimburse only a portion of eligible nonrefundable costs
- Be unavailable in certain locations or circumstances
Terms vary significantly by policy.
Do not assume that a travel insurance policy includes CFAR unless the policy specifically states that it does.
9. Exclusions, Limitations & Timing Requirements
Travel insurance policies contain exclusions, conditions, limitations, and eligibility requirements.
Depending on the policy, these may relate to matters such as:
- Pre-existing medical conditions
- Known or foreseeable events
- Certain weather events
- Government restrictions
- Pregnancy-related circumstances
- High-risk activities
- Alcohol or substance-related incidents
- Failure to obtain required travel documentation
- Events occurring before coverage becomes effective
- Other circumstances identified by the insurer
Some benefits, waivers, or optional protections may also depend on when the policy is purchased in relation to your initial trip payment or deposit.
For this reason, travelers should review insurance options promptly rather than waiting until immediately before departure.
10. Claims & Coverage Decisions
All travel insurance claims are handled by the applicable insurance provider.
The insurer may require documentation such as:
- Receipts
- Cancellation confirmations
- Medical documentation
- Proof of delay
- Supplier correspondence
- Baggage reports
- Other supporting information
The insurance provider—not A Blissful Voyage—determines whether a claim qualifies for coverage and the amount, if any, that will be paid.
A Blissful Voyage cannot guarantee that an insurance claim will be approved and cannot override or change an insurer’s claim decision.
Travelers should contact the insurance provider directly regarding claim submission, claim status, appeals, or coverage determinations.
11. Supplier Cancellation Policies Are Separate
Travel insurance and supplier cancellation policies are not the same thing.
Airlines, cruise lines, hotels, resorts, tour operators, transportation providers, and other suppliers establish their own:
- Cancellation rules
- Change policies
- Refund policies
- Credit policies
- No-show rules
- Penalties
- Nonrefundable charges
Purchasing travel insurance does not change a supplier’s cancellation policy.
Likewise, a supplier’s decision not to provide a refund does not automatically mean that an insurance claim will be covered.
Any insurance reimbursement is determined separately according to the terms of the insurance policy.
Important: Claims are decided by the insurance provider based on the policy’s terms and conditions—not by A Blissful Voyage.
12. If You Decline Travel Insurance
When travel insurance is optional, you may choose to decline coverage.
However, declining travel insurance means you may be personally responsible for financial losses resulting from circumstances that might otherwise have been eligible for coverage under an applicable policy.
These losses could include nonrefundable:
- Flights
- Cruise fares
- Hotel reservations
- Tours
- Transportation
- Activities
- Other prepaid travel arrangements
as well as unexpected medical, evacuation, delay, or other travel-related expenses.
Declining insurance does not change or expand a supplier’s refund or cancellation policy.
13. Traveler Responsibility
Before purchasing or declining travel insurance, travelers are responsible for reviewing the available information and considering their individual circumstances.
You should carefully review the insurance provider’s:
- Description of coverage
- Policy or certificate of insurance
- Covered reasons
- Exclusions
- Benefit limits
- Eligibility requirements
- Effective dates
- Cancellation provisions
- Claim procedures
If you have questions about a particular insurance benefit or whether a specific circumstance would be covered, contact the insurance provider directly before purchasing the plan or relying upon the coverage.
14. Privacy & Insurance Providers
If you request information about travel protection or choose to purchase coverage, certain information may be provided directly to the applicable insurance provider or authorized insurance platform when reasonably necessary to assist with that request or transaction.
Travel insurance providers are independent third parties and maintain their own privacy practices and policies. A Blissful Voyage
